Dr Day graduated from Monash University in 1983 and went on to do her residency years at Geelong Hospital. She then acquired her diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology the year after.

She has then practised in General Practice predominantly in Berwick over the last 30 years: the continuity being broken up a little by having her 3 sons. She has always had an interest in prevention of illness.

For the last 10 years her passion has been in weight management, predominantly post-surgical gastric band adjustments. This has expanded to include use of medications as either a non-surgical option or as an adjunct to surgery . Over the last few years suitable medications have come on to the market to help control hunger so we are now better equipped to deal with weight regain after surgery or weight loss if it occurs. No one treatment fits all, so working with patient to define their personal needs is a challenging and rewarding experience.
